WHAT'S NEXT?

Writing a Life.

Why you should hurry to choose the different modules for the Autumn 2026 Program.

The Fall 2026 Program at ICTEWriting a Life — is an invitation to rediscover the story of the first Christians, express your own faith through writing, and contemplate the divine message revealed through the art and portraits of the Renaissance.

Listen to Fr. Edward Linton present the Fall Program,  discover what awaits in Modules 2 and 3.

For more information about the three modules, read the "What's Next?" section in the different issues of this magazine, “Your Priest Sabbatical in Rome”. And remember that priest may register for individual modules or for the complete Fall Program.

MODULE 1: 📅 September 7 – October 2, 2026

Walk in the Footsteps of St. Augustine: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Sabbatical Experience!

In Algeria, Leone XIV, a “son of St. Augustine” made what he described as a true return to his roots.

With this module, in Rome as in a Muslim country where the catholic community is so discrete, don’t miss this occasion to feed the deep roots of your faith  …

…. But don’t forget that; if Papal diplomacy moves quickly, visa offices… not always !!

MODULE 2: 📅 October 5 — October 23, 2026

Writing a Life: Telling My Own Story.  A Storytellers’ Workshop for Priests

At the ICTE you’ll not only attend expert-led courses and live relaxing moments of fraternity and pray, but you’ll also be invited to participate to a writing workshop led by Fr. Greg Friedman, OFM, an author and journalist who served also as editor of The Holy Land Review, the official magazine of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land.

Writing a Life:
Not simply to learn how to tell stories, but to rediscover the story God is writing in your own priesthood.

Your next chapter begins here!

MODULE 3: 📅 October 26 — November 20, 2026

Writing a Life: Renaissance Art

Includes a 6-day Pilgrimage to Northern Italy

The final module takes participants on an unforgettable journey through Milan, Pavia and the Lombardy region, following the footsteps of Saint Augustine while discovering the artistic and spiritual treasures of Northern Italy.

Prepare to be amazed inside the Teodolinda Chapel in Monza Cathedral, home to extraordinary International Gothic frescoes and the famous Corona Ferrea (“Iron Crown”), a masterpiece of late antique goldsmithing that recalls the symbolic link between the Passion of Christ, Constantine and the Kings of Italy, including the Visconti rulers of Milan.

Continue the journey through the treasures of the Venetian Renaissance in Bergamo — before discovering that artistic thirst may be best prolonged, and gently quenched, among the sparkling vineyards of Franciacorta, alongside Champagne one of the only wine regions in the world to share its name with the sparkling wine it produces.

Faith, beauty, fraternity… and perhaps a sparkling glass in hand: this is Northern Italy at its finest.

A TIMELY INVITATION

Because of diocesan procedures, visa applications and travel planning, priests interested in participating are strongly encouraged to begin the registration process in the coming weeks.
