A taste of renewal at the ICTE

During a tasting dinner organized at the Pontifical North American College by Father Zinno, Msgr. Robert Johnson shares how his sabbatical at the ICTE in Rome led to friendships that continue to this day.

Ordained to the priesthood in 1990, Msgr. Robert K. Johnson is now pastor of St. Joseph and St. Stephen Parish in Worcester, Massachusetts. Before taking on this role, he served for nearly ten years as rector of the Cathedral of Saint Paul, a responsibility he held alongside his work as Episcopal Master of Ceremonies and Director of the Office for Divine Worship.

After nearly twenty-four years of service in the bishop’s office, during which he received pontifical honors and was named a monsignor, Msgr. Johnson was ready for a well-deserved sabbatical. In the spring of 2019, he came to the ICTE in Rome for a much-needed time of rest, educational enrichment and renewed strength through prayer. It was also an opportunity to meet fellow priests and build lasting friendships, including with Father Thomas Ferland and Father Henry Zinno, both from the Diocese of Providence.

During a special tasting dinner prepared by Father Zinno with the help of his friends and parishioners, Msgr. Johnson shared his experience at the ICTE.
